Anti-Racist statement

Old Square Tax Chambers Anti-Racist statement

The workplace culture within Old Square Tax Chambers is fundamentally anti-racist and anti-discriminatory. This is due to a number of factors including the leadership of management, which actively promotes systems, policies and structures designed to promote these aims. We also seek to promote an environment of positive practices and attitudes, with which members, pupils and staff, both collectively and individually, are aligned.

We constantly monitor our circumstances. While no barrier to race equality has been identified,
we are committed to exploring and (where appropriate) creating opportunities for people of all
backgrounds. To this end, as part of our desire to combat race inequality, we are considering
means of encouraging applications for 3rd sixes and lateral hires from underrepresented
backgrounds. In addition, we are committed to:

• Having transparent and objective systems for shortlisting, interviewing and selecting
3rd six candidates and lateral hires;

We also encourage individual members to engage with volunteering for the Lincoln’s Inn
mentoring programme and volunteering for the Lincoln’s Inn’s outreach programme.

We believe in leading meaningful change and will continue to develop our Anti-Racist policy by
reviewing and reflecting on it at regular intervals.
